My Story 🌿🦧🍊

Hi, I’m Mel, the mum of three and the person behind The Tempting Tangerine, a small handmade business I established in 2014.

My passion for creating palm-oil-free products comes from something very close to my heart. Before starting my business, I travelled to Sumatra, where I had the incredible experience of seeing orangutans in their natural environment. Seeing these beautiful animals and learning about the destruction of their rainforest habitat left a lasting impression on me.

When I started The Tempting Tangerine, I knew I wanted to create beautiful handmade products without contributing to the use of palm oil. 🌿🦧

Being palm-oil free has been at the heart of my business from the very beginning. I make a range of handmade soaps, candles, body products, wax melts, home fragrances and personalised gifts, with a strong focus on making thoughtful choices for our environment and protecting orangutan habitat.

But The Tempting Tangerine is about more than just making products. I’m passionate about supporting local, handmade and small businesses, and I love creating products that are a little bit different and made with genuine care.

Outside of my business, I’m also a foster carer for Starting Over Dog Rescue, giving rescue dogs a safe place to recover, learn to trust and hopefully find their forever homes. 🐾❤️

Being a mum of three, running a small business and fostering rescue dogs can certainly keep me busy, but these are the things I’m passionate about and wouldn’t change.
